The purpose of this award is to equip the learner with the knowledge, skill and competence to perform nail enhancements taking full responsibility and operating autonomously in meeting client needs.
- Explain the purpose of a nail and skin analysis
- Identify indications, the contra-indications and contra-actions to treatments
- Describe the chemical process involved in nail technology
- Describe nail technology systems and nail art treatments
- Describe the environmental conditions required to perform nail technology treatments
- Carry out a consultation to identify suitable treatments and their objectives
- Conduct and adapt appropriate nail technology and nail art treatments to suit the treatment area and the client¿s needs within a commercially acceptable time limit
- Provide appropriate aftercare and homecare advice
- Implement good practice with regard to health and safety guidelines when conducting treatments
- Ensure the correct positioning of both client and therapist
- Record and reflect on the results of treatments
- Communicate and behave in a professional manner
- Adhere to manufacturers¿ instructions for the use of professional products and machines.
